The shoe pouch is an important accessory of professional joggers and runners. With a shoe pouch, it is possible for a runner or walker to place the sensor in their shoes, without worrying of damaging it. The shoe pouch can be used in shoes of various brands, including Nike, Reebok, New Balance and Asics as it fits a snug fit in all shoes.

 

With the sensor pouch in the shoe, it risk of the sensor falling out when exercising is reduced considerably. Not only does it provide protection to the sensor, it also permits for the transfer of accurate data from the sensor.

 

What to look for while buying shoe pouch:

 

When buying a shoe pouch, it is better to buy one which is secured to the outside of the shoe. In such cases, the shoe pouch is attached to the shoes through the shoelaces and not over or under them. These shoe pouches have better loop design with super strong nylon where there is extra durability to the wearer.

 

Choose shoe pouches with stretchable fabrics like neoprene where you find a slit that is wide enough to hold the sensor in it. This way, there is some resistance offered when inserting and removing the sensor. The slit of this shoe pouch has the added protection of Velcro, to prevent the sensor from falling out.

 

Another advantage of neoprene is that it makes the shoe pouch waterproof and very durable and can function in sweat, rain, etc. The only thing to be remembered when using the shoe pouch is to place the sensor face down in it, through the slit of the shoe pouch. This means that the logo of the sensor should be facing down while attaching the shoe pouch to the shoe.

 

Once the sensor is inserted, and the slit of the shoe pouch closed, the red logo side of the sensor and the shoe pouch logo lie facing you. Only then should the shoes be unlaced to the bottom line, and then have the shoelaces passed through the attachment points in the shoe pouch to be securely attached to the shoe.

 

 

What to avoid:

 

There are some shoe pouches that use Velcro for securing themselves. However this type of shoe pouch is not advised as sensors enclosed in such products usually end up bouncing up and down, when the shoe strikes the ground. This leads to the production of inaccurate data.
